Turmeric juice has many healthy benefits and our practitioners at Stone International Wellness Center highly encourage and motivate our patients to regularly implement turmeric into their daily consumption.

Turmeric is a relative of ginger and it is yellow with a hint of orange. This famous spice is traditionally used in traditional Chinese medicine as well as Asian cuisines. According to Healthline.com, one of the main and potent components in turmeric is curcumin. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and antioxidant properties.

Because turmeric contains curcumin, a bioactive compound, it promotes good health. The National Cancer Institute has reported that bioactive compounds are being studied in the prevention of cancer and heart disease amongst other neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Studies have shown that curcumin may decrease the buildup of amyloid plaques which are harmful to the brain as they are seen in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s. Amyloid plaques are misfolded proteins that form in the spaces between nerve cells according to News Medical.

Other benefits from turmeric is that it can support heart health. One of the leading causes of death in the world is heart disease. The lining of your blood vessels is called the endothelium which is responsible for many heart functions from blood pressure to blood clots. Curcumin has been shown to improve the proper function of the endothelium lining. Turmeric is also a known resource that helps your body detox by “producing vital enzymes capable of detoxifying the blood going to the liver by breaking down the toxins”.

At Stone IWC we believe in the power of fresh, organic turmeric, so we produce our own turmeric juice named Juice For Hope. Our juice is made with apple cider vinegar with the mother, honey, cinnamon and hope! When our patients detox with us by having a cupping treatment, we always recommend that they consume a bottle of turmeric juice in order to help flush out the toxins in the body. Our turmeric juice is available for purchase to which the proceeds help support The Source of Hope (Stone IWC’s foundation and partnered non-profit organization that helps at-risk families and students).

Our practitioners at Stone IWC want all of our patients to be fully aware that every food item and product needs to be taken in moderation, so please do not exceed the amount of turmeric that is suggested by your provider.
