Douching

In the past many eastern cultures used leaves to clean their private parts when they use the restroom. Urine is warm and because of that, it is advised by our practitioners to use a cooler organic wipe or a compress when you wipe yourselves. Due to the temperature difference, the organs within the vagina will become stimulated and get tighter as the muscles around it contract (this prevents any organs from sagging so to speak).

Our practitioners recommend using organic herbs and natural resources to better utilize a douche.  A douche can be a tube or a nozzle that is inserted into the vagina to clean or wash out any discharge and odor. Regular douching is recommended even if you do not have any issues with discharge or odor.

Our practitioners believe that you should avoid synthetic douching at all costs. We understand that there are myths about douching and how it could be dangerous, however, we still encourage natural, organic douching practices. We recommend patients to use apple cider vinegar, epsom salt and water equally mixed together and then placed in the vagina with a douche. Our practitioners also want men to also clean their penis with the same mixture in order to achieve a healthier urination lifestyle. Epsom salt baths can improve urination and infections when it comes to the vagina or penis.

Using organic feminine products can help improve your vaginal health. There are so many chemicals within commercial tampons, pads and cups which can cause complications. Chemicals in commercial feminine products include chlorine, pesticides and insecticides. Organic feminine products are a great switch due to the fact that they are also free from dyes and harsh fragrances.

Something to consider if you do have discharge and/or odor is to stay away from canned foods, and bamboo (which worsens discharge). You should eat more fresh organic citric fruits and cacti (high in vitamin k) to help improve any discharge issues.

At Stone International Wellness Center our practitioners want all of our patients to eat healthily, avoid processed foods, and switch to organic brands and products. A healthy lifestyle change will improve your health in more ways than you would know.
